Crispy tofu cubes combined with a flavorful, simple-to-make garlic sauce make up Asian Garlic Tofu. It's ideal as an appetizer for a larger Asian-inspired meal or as a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients:
- 1 block tofu, extra firm
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions:
Press tofu to remove excess water, then cut into cubes
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, and minced garlic
In another bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add tofu cubes
Cook until golden brown on all sides
Pour the soy sauce mixture over the tofu and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens
Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and stir well until the sauce coats the tofu
Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving
